Data from Spring 2009 TCAP Test

These scores are the average score for all students taking the TCAP test, grades 3 and 4. For all subjects, to get an A, the NCE score must be greater than or equal to 55. For a B, the average must  be 50-54, for a C, between 45-49, for a D, between 40-44, and an F, less than or equal to 39.

Value Added is determined by the growth of a student’s NCE score from his/her 3rd grade test score to the 4th grade test score.

*An average gain of 0 is considered average growth and is a grade of C.

 

Proficiency Levels

Depending on the number of questions answered correctly in a given

subject, students are rated as Advanced, Proficient, or Non-Proficient in

that subject. The percentages below include all 3rd and 4th graders who

took the TCAP test during the Spring 2009 testing.

Only the subjects of Math and Reading/Language Arts are given

proficiency scores. The required benchmark proficiency scores through

the 2009-2010 school year are 89% for Math and 86% for

Reading/Language Arts. Starting with the 2010 school year, benchmarks

will be raised to 94% for Reading/Language Arts and 93% for Math.
