For Grandparent’s Day in September, Mrs. Frances Hall told stories and visited with us in the Library.

Our story this week is Messenger Messenger by Robert Burleigh. We will compare and contrast stories.
We will practice the high- frequency words:
What, was, said, from, here, one, two, three, four, five, are, do, that, go, they, of, you, look, with, me, he, she, for, we, my, have, is, I, the, little, see, like, to, a & am.
Our nursery rhyme for the week is “It’s Raining, It’s Pouring.”
Or sound of the week is the short vowel u as in up.
In Math we will count to 134. The students will review coins - name and value. They will use clocks to model time the the hour.

Group making booklet on August 24, 2009.
In Kindergarten we learn many new things everyday. If your child is in this class, you will receive a weekly newsletter each Monday. This newsletter contains updates and activities from our classroom and school. Also, each child will bring home a monthly snack calendar. On your child’s snack day, your child may bring ONE thing from home to “show” to the class.
Use Verbal praise to encourage your child as he/she:

For Fire Safety Week in October, Sam Waldron and Jason Lea demonstrated how a fire alarm works, dressing in turnouts (what a firefighter wears), and gave a tour of the fire engine and its equipment. We learned lots of fire safety tips.
