Dear Parents and Guardians,
The faculty and staff of Ashland City Elementary pride ourselves in creating a culture of community at our school. We are a community school with many community activities taking place in our school building or on our school grounds throughout the year. We strive to create a welcoming environment while being ever conscious of the safety and security of our students. As we begin this new 2011-2012 school year, we know that the job of educating your child is a huge job. It is impossible to do without your help. Parent involvement is the key to success of all children. I urge all of you to make a pledge to work with your child nightly, if only for 10 – 15 minutes, on those areas which the teacher has identified as areas to refine. Nothing will make as big a difference in your child’s educational growth as reading to or with your child nightly. Spend time discussing local/ world events, use vocabulary which might be unfamiliar to your child and put it in kid friendly terms, and continue to emphasize the importance of an education as the key which opens up opportunities in the future.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kathy Adams
A.C.E.S. Principal
